Fit spinach harvesting and delivery into the season

Make room for spinach harvesting in your calendar before sowing. The crop decision includes a delivery job and a possible return visit, so reserve time for both alongside the work already promised to other fields.

The GIANTS lesson describes one regrowth, a specialist harvester and early sowing for two harvests. It says harvested spinach needs immediate sale or processing. Use those constraints to build your schedule rather than assuming a second delivery will fit automatically.

Before you sow

Identify a destination in the active save and inspect its unloading point. If you intend to process the crop, check the facility's actual acceptance and available space. Choose a second destination you could use if the first becomes unsuitable.

Then find the harvest equipment in the current shop. Record its purchase or hire quote and plan transport alongside it. A trailer that looks convenient still needs its crop support checked. Consult crops, equipment and productions together; follow up any missing catalogue information in game.

Reserve two visits, budget them separately

1. Note the active crop calendar and your other commitments.
2. Reserve the first harvest and the delivery journey as one block of work.
3. Leave a separate provisional block for returning to the field.
4. Check the crop after the first visit and adjust that block to its actual state.
5. Keep the return visit conditional until the field and equipment are ready.

Compare a budget with one completed harvest against a budget with two. Use the quotes and costs you actually plan to incur in each. Leave unknown output quantities open; multiplying the first delivery by two would conceal the uncertainty you are trying to measure.

At the first delivery

Record the harvested quantity, time spent working, time spent travelling and any waiting at the destination. Note which machine or vehicle caused a queue. Use that record to decide whether you can serve a larger field next season.

If your first delivery already occupies more time than expected, revise the remaining farm calendar before committing another field. A workable plan leaves enough transport and attention for the crop you have planted.
